I live in a school bus (yes, a school bus!) without electricity, very low tech, and I am enjoying every minute of it. My goals: 1) Have a home that I have "built" myself. 2) Live off-grid & very low tech 3) To live self sustaining and green 4) To keep things simple so I can maintain things myself 5) Have as few bills as possible. I have every intention of sharing everything I have come across in my years of researching how to make my dreams come true here at this site. This blog is just in its infancy. I do hope you stop by again and check things out! I plan on moving my extensive files to the internet so that I always have access to them and to share them. I promise that there will be something for everyone here on how to get by in this world. Why a school bus? Where else can a person with limited skills get a solid roof, walls, and floor for $1200 (or less if you have the time to look). I am able to put in a wood stove so I can heat my space and cook. I can customize the bus to my own needs/wants (basically it is a blank canvas!). And if at any time I need to move my homestead I can do it in a matter of hours. I realize that no matter what it will always be a bus, but my want to be on this little spot of the world is so much more than anyone can imagine.
